Daily Photo Digest: Splish splash, take a drive with me, lets find the unfound in Salem County. Find a little dirt, find a little mud, jump in a puddle, shake off your troubles, and smile.
Pictures from a rainy day of driving around Salem County, New Jersey.
My father had a quad bypass surgery last year. Up until a week or so before his surgery, I had not talked to him for close to four months. We had a falling out that could have resulted in my last words to my father being “Get the fuck out of my house”.
Since then, he has completely healed from his surgery, and by the grace of medical science and the fact that he used to run 10 miles a day for fun, the four blockages did not take him from me. There were moments, when we look back, where his life could’ve ended very easily. The very heated argument we had could’ve easily done that. The moments during our Santa photo sessions (my father is the one and only Santa Nate) where he struggled. The time he and my cousin single handedly transported a whole damn wooden play set from the back yard of a friend’s house to ours.
We’re 14 months removed from the surgery now, and in those months we’ve taken time to get back to some of our favorite past-times as a family. We have taken several long drives around the winding back roads, and one of those drives took us through “parts unknown” around Salem County.
As a photographer, one of my favorite activities is driving around and finding interesting places to take photos. The seemingly mundane becomes beautiful when you focus on what is around you and point out the beauty to passers by.
So, my lovely readers, I would like to introduce my newest series in the Nat the Neurodivergent world - Nat’s Daily Photo Digest.

There is beauty in destruction, wouldn’t you agree?
After wandering around the abandoned house, we continued our drive back toward home, but not after encountering this swell fella.
